New Orleans Day One 7.26.2021: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” – Lao Tzu

It feels like I have been in New Orleans for forever now, but I’ve only been here for a couple of days. I’ve done so many things, and had a lot of sleep as well. This old fool tires easily when I’m bouncing around a city that is hot, humid, and full of places to see and things to do. I arrived on Monday, 7/26, and honestly? I didn’t do much that day. Between lack of sleep having to arrive at the airport at 4am, and a pretty rough landing on the first flight making my body ache….I was just exhausted and sore. Maybe it was the fibromyalgia, or the fact that I’m becoming as old as dirt…but I was in bed before dark. That didn’t stop me from snagging some photos, though.

I’m at the top floor of the hotel I booked, and the details of this old building are just beautiful. I’m in the central business district of NOLA at the Drury Plaza Hotel which used to be an old telephone building.
