“Education is the key to unlocking the world, a passport to freedom.” – Oprah Winfrey

Let’s see a show of hands of those who have successfully completed, and survived the first week back to school! *raises hand*

I feel like we deserve some sort of bumper sticker or something!

No, seriously. It’s been crazy.

On one hand I kind of wish that I would have went on with my original intention of homeschooling. I do, after all, have a homeschool/office set up going on in my home. It’s fully stocked and ready to go. But…nothing is ever as simple as one decision over another. It’s never just black and white.

Since we were redistricted to a new school I made my son promise that he would “try” the new home school. Sorry, but I’m really not one of those moms that has a desire to homeschool my children…so try, please? Turns out I made the best decision for him. In his first week (so far) he seems to be doing really well. Unfortunately, my daughter isn’t.

Why does it seem as if when one child is happy the other isn’t?

Why is it when one is succeeding one struggles?

Why can’t I just have two decently adjusted, semi-happy children?

In any case, congratulations to all of us who have survived. May the coffee be extra caffeinated and the mornings bring peaceful naps after the kiddos get off of the bus. Onto week two for us!
